Wow, what an amazing 24 hours this has been... Lots of good things happening in my life, and I am almost afraid to even blog that for fear it will jinx things.
Michael is doing much better. He went to bed right after dinner last night, but seemed like his normal funny self this morning. YAY!
I wrote an article last summer and it's been published in the new In Motion magazine, which is really exciting. Here's a link to it. It's titled "Prosthetics: To Wear or Not to Wear." Michael chooses not to wear one most of the time.
My cousin Tony told me about a college soccer player with the same limb difference as Michael and it's here: Attitude Sets FSU's Carson Pickett Apart. Interesting article.
I have said to Michael many times, everyone in the world has a "disability" of some sort. Some of them are visible, some not. What sets people apart is their attitude.
As I have mentioned, I had to have a hysterectomy this past July, for some female issues. I feel fine now, thank God, but it was not a fun summer.
Got a letter from Northside Hospital this morning saying they were extending financial assistance to me for the unpaid hospital bill from last summer, and I don't owe them ANY more money!!!! HUGE blessing. Talked to the lady in the financial office when I read the letter and she said I am covered with them through April of next year!
I just started crying when she said that. THANK GOD.
I am only working part-time and I have a lot of bills right now. I have had to dip into my retirement account to make ends meet. It has been a difficult time lately.
I am up for a writing job I pray I will get because it would be perfect. Will explain more later if I get it.
I had a will signing with Kristy late yesterday afternoon and she always picks me up for those. When we pulled out Kristy said "Oh, look at your big pumpkin!"
This is what she was looking at:
I have a plastic pumpkin on the porch because OK, I'm not Martha Stewart, duh?!?
I don't know who brought me this pumpkin but if you read the blog THANKS!!!
I have friends coming in tomorrow that I have not seen in a LONG time and I am so excited. I am making a big fall dinner including pork roast, green beans, applesauce, pecan pie, and gluten-free pumpkin muffins. I gotta go to the store, in fact.
I gotta clean up the house. A lot. Dang, there went my good mood... :-)
