I have been reading the blog of some friends I met online, a couple in Pa. who have adopted 2 Russian sisters, ages 6 and 10. The older child is a real pain. She bullies her sister, has tantrums, etc. Makes me glad I have such a comparatively easy child, in Alesia.
Mother is 72 years old today. We’ve had a good, albeit a busy day.
We had to go get mother’s new driver’s license this morning, with the new address. There was only a short wait. It wasn’t bad.
We did errands, including the grocery store. We had lunch at Fuddruckers – still excellent hamburgers, in my opinion. Gary met us at the restaurant and we had a good visit.
Alesia went over and played with her friend Elena most of the afternoon. Mom napped. I tried to figure out a way to see my friend Kate tomorrow.
We had a nice dinner at a little Mexican restaurant, and I enjoyed it. The food was pretty gourmet, definitely a cut above the usual. I wanted a glass of sangria, but settled for Sprite. I’m still trying not to drink in front of Alesia.
My brother didn’t send a gift or card, but he left Mother a phone message. When we tried to call back he didn’t pick up. Oh well.
Happy New Year! I sure hope 2006 is better than 2005!
