Alesia was so funny
this morning. We were talking about Cinco de Mayo, then languages, and Mother
said something about
the time I spent in
France, and taking the ferry to England. This was years ago when I was in grad
school. I asked Alesia, “Do you know what a ferry is?” I thought she did, but I wasn’t
sure. I thought she was listening to the conversation. She thought a moment. “Yes, it’s a little girl with
wings and a wand, right?” Mother and I laughed for five minutes. Even Alesia
laughed after we explained it’s a big boat. I still laugh when I get a mental
image of me riding a fairy across the English channel! LOL
I
got a list of the documents I will need for my updated homestudy. I am already
starting to assemble them. I e-mailed my friend Angie and she wrote me a
reference letter and e-mailed it within an hour. It was so nice of her. I also
wrote the updated autobiography. I have a long way to go but I feel good that I’ve
made a start. Tomorrow I am going to buy a file box and some
folders so I can keep everything organized, which helped so much with Alesia’s
adoption. I feel like if I can do everything quickly that’s within my power, if
there are bureaucratic delays I won’t face any self-recrimination.
Coco has been felling
poorly all day, and had diarrhea this morning. She wouldn’t eat all day, likely
because her tummy was in turmoil. We’ve had a hard time getting her to eat. She
only wants table food, and it upsets her tummy. She won’t eat the expensive
canned food that is easy on her tummy. Tonight I picked her up and she threw up
on me. It wasn’t too bad – she only weighs 8 lbs. Alesia was looking at me in
horror and I just said “See, this is why I adopted older children! And I got
vomited on anyway! God sure does have a sense of humor!” I was chuckling…
