I haven't had time to update here, but this will give an idea of recent events. I sent this to my brother this morning:
We went to lunch on Saturday and the waiter was quite fairy-like. After he took our order Alesia looked at him, frowning, and said with great scorn, “Did you notice his eyelashes? His eyelashes were long and curly like a girl’s, and he walked like this “ – she wriggled her bottom. It was too funny. He was quite swishy.
Yesterday, we were looking at the computer, and I was looking at Google images, for images of Petropavlovsk, where Matthew is now. Alesia looked at a few with me, then whined “Mom, this is BORING. Hey, I have an idea, let’s go into images and type the word “booger!” I just looked at her and said “This is why you never get to go on the internet by yourself, Alesia.” [She was really ticked when I told her she would always have me or Bronwyn supervising her when she was on the computer.]
I got the liquid fingerprint enhancer for Mother. However, we have to just wait until the new appointment [July 8] to try it out. I don’t see any point in just going down there – the office here is overwhelmed with immigrants, as you can imagine.
I hope you can come in either for my birthday, or maybe the weekend before that, or after that? Remember Alesia’s birthday is the 9th. Lesleigh’s is July 8th. Lesleigh agreed to take Alesia and her friend Elena to Six Flags for the birthdays; I will probably send them on a weekday when it’s less crowded. Lord knows I don’t want to go.
Had a horrible experience at the dentist on Saturday. He gave me stuff to numb my gums and I was tilted so far back in the chair I swallowed it and got nauseated. I started shaking and having chills. Then when he got the drill out to fill the tooth he kept drilling into the nerve and it hurt like h***. I was crying in the chair, the tears running into my ears. I have never been so miserable at the dentist. My jaw hurt so bad all weekend I could hardly eat. It was horrible. He wasn’t my regular dentist – I sure won’t go back to him.
We planted okra and carrots yesterday, after moving the lilies from the vegetable garden. Hopefully we will be getting some soon. Alesia likes okra. She found the first ripe little Roma tomato yesterday and asked if she could eat it, and I said sure, after you wash it. So she rinsed it off under the hose and ate it in two bites. We’ve gotten 3 yellow squash now. I am going to have to spray for bugs, though; they are chomping the leaves now.
The septic tank guys are finally scheduled to come out tomorrow and finish the job. I got the upstairs air conditioner looked at by a professional and he said it’s shot and a new one is needed, which doesn’t surprise me. So we’re getting a new upstairs unit tomorrow. The downstairs one is fine.
XOXOXOX
