Alesia has been a sick girl all day. She has thrown up a couple of times, and spent most of the day downstairs lying on the couch. Lots of nausea, headache. I have felt intermittent bouts of nausea and headachey myself for the past few days. I think we must have caught some weird virus.
We were supposed to meet with the social worker for the third post-placement visit, but we canceled that. We also canceled piano and the tutors. I hope Alesia feels better tomorrow.
When I got home she had perked up and was feeling better. I put her and Mother in the car and we drove over to Clairmont Rd. to the little Russian food store, which I had been promising Alesia we would visit. She got several things, including some frozen pilmeni, the Siberian dumplings she loves. She was happy to be there, but threw up in the car on the way home.
Mother’s shoulders are really bothering her. She is trying to not take any pain meds but super Tylenol and pomegranate juice, which we think really does help. The prescription pain meds all have side effects – fatigue, upset tummy, itchiness, etc.
We need to get Coco’s latest stitches out. She has not felt good herself, poor baby. We are trying to be diligent about brushing her, so she won’t get the hair mats again. I ordered a pink baby brush and that doesn’t hurt her.
Alesia wanted to go to bed at 9 so I put her to bed. She just told me she is afraid in her room, and I went in there and rubbed her back, and we turned on the radio. She said she had heard somebody in there rustling papers. I just looked up at the ceiling and told Dad to protect her from anything bad, and help her go to sleep. I said "Don't worry Sweetie, Grandpa Tony will protect you! He's your guardian angel." I absolutely believe that. She smiled. I think it comforted her.
I hope we ALL feel better tomorrow…
