After a week of anticipation, we have finally gotten some rain from Tropical Storm Fay, or whatever it’s called now. We’ve had periods of bright sun, then drenching showers, all day. I doubt it will bust the drought, but it’s something.
We have had a pretty quiet day. The weekly trip to Kroger was all the excitement for the day. Well, that and mopping up the water in the kitchen. We’re pretty sure it’s a line to the ice maker that has malfunctioned. Mother has the plumber coming in the morning.
Our neighbors Brian and Daryl came over for dinner. I fixed my homemade lasagna, French bread, and a salad. Mother makes the best salads out of the little Boston bib lettuce, mushrooms, and her own dressing. It was so nice to see the guys, and have a chance to visit. The children adore them both, so they were very comfortable around them.
Darryl observed that Michael’s voice is getting deeper. Of course as soon as he said that, Michael said in a beautiful high soprano, “It is?”
He is growing up so fast.
