I am still working on getting my book, Adopting Alesia, published. I did the corrections to the book and sent them back, and I am just waiting for them to be made, and the next steps to be taken. Hopefully it will be out in the next month or so.
In the meantime, I am trying to get some publicity in place. I did an online interview the other day, and one of the questions made me really think. It was something to the effect of, what advice would I give to parents adopting an older child for the first time? I thought I would address it here, as it’s a topic that’s near and dear to my heart. I am toying with the idea of expanding this and making it into a book. I posted my article for parents adopting older kids on this page.
Alesia told me last night she wants blonde highlights. It was very hard not to laugh. “Sweetie, sit out in the sun for a couple of hours after taking a swim and you will be more blonde. You’re always more blonde in the summer.”
“But I want highlights!”
“I’m not paying for you to dye your hair, and it won’t happen as long as you live under my roof,” I snapped.
She has the most gorgeous hair on the planet and she wants to MESS with it??!! It boggles my mind.
I am so ready for a vacation…
These were made a couple of years ago. Look at that hair!
Here she is last summer - note how blonde she is??!
