Dump some chicken filets in the crock pot with lots of chicken stock, a diced onion, some butter, a cup or two of white wine, and 1-2 teaspoons of Herbes de Provence, my new favorite spice. Add in the rice an hour before you want to eat. The smell permeating the house is heavenly.
Talk show host Craig Ferguson did this joke yesterday:
"Obama has other speeches planned this week. The next is for Congress. Congress and school children are very different of course . . . one is an unruly bunch of maniacs who pick their noses and read at grade-school level . . . the other is school children."
That reminds me of my favorite lawyer joke. "What's the difference between a catfish and a lawyer?"
One is a scum-swilling bottom feeder. The other is a fish.
