I've tried several times today to post here and each time, the computer shuts down. I don't know why, but it feels like the bloody machine is saying "No that's no good, try again you idiot!"
Maybe it's just me being weird. The weather outside is cold and grey and rainy, with a lot of fog.
I got Alesia up this morning about 11:30 and we went to the store but first I let her drive. She did fine on the interstate, then failed to turn into the Publix parking lot and we went barreling down LaVista needing to turn around. I told her to turn into a church parking lot so we could turn around. She put her left turn signal on and waited. Suddenly she hit the gas and turned in front of a blue pickup truck barreling toward us. I screamed louder than I remember screaming in a long time. Alesia acted like it was no big deal. Grrr....
We are hunkered in here, just doing nothing. I am reading the best book, Her Fearful Symmetry, by Audrey Niffenegger, who wrote Time Travelers Wife. It's about a hanted apartment next to am old cemetery in London. Not really my type of book, but it intrigues me. Characters are well-drawn. Chapters aren't too long. Good read.
Mother is 76 years old today. Above is a photo of her and her father, my grandfather. I had never seen this before but found it recently.
It somewhat blows my mind, thinking of Mother that old. Here's an interesting thing, though. She's almost 29 years older than me, and I am 29 years older than Alesia. There's some symmetry.
We are just having a "family party" tonight. Lesleigh may or may not come. Bruce is supposed to be on his way but we haven't heard from him.
My aunt and uncle are big photographers and they brought some photos the other day I had never seen, including this one made in 1985. Check out Mother's hairdo. Ah, the 80's...
Happy Birthday Mom!
Love, Dee
