Mike is trying to get to sleep on the aerobed in my room. I am playing Will Smith's "The Men in Black." It's one of the few songs I agreed to listen to, because hey, my music is "boring." I told him he better asleep within 2 songs, because after that I am cranking the Old Boring Music.
I am now "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It." I have no idea what that means but my head won't seem to stop bobbing...
We've had a nice day, very relaxing.
My mother's brother Don and his wife came over for lunch. They are nearby visiting their daughter. We had homemade vegetable beef soup. We all slept late, so it felt weird to be eating breakfast at 10 a.m. and then lunch at 12:30...
Alesia and DN went to see Avatar. When I asked Alesia if she liked it she said "It was very long." Hmmm... Glad I didn't buy that ticket.
Mike and Bruce and I went to the Buford Highway Farmer's Market. Bruce loves ethnic foods. I could tell he had a good time. There were folks everywhere giving out food samples. He bought something called Cane Vinegar, and Sapporo beer for a friend, and some fried dried little fishies - anchovies I think. I bought things like bread, eggs, and V-8 juice. I bought Michael a cheburecki [?] and got some cheese blintzes, which are a great treat for me. They had fish swimming around in the meat department. I love fresh fish, but I am not cold-blooded enought to point at one and declare "He must die!"
Michael came home and spent the rest of the day playing Nintendo. I guess it's a reaction to the fact I declared Christmas a computer-free day.
We watched a great movie Enemy of the State. It's a great thriller, starring Will Smith, Gene Hackman, and Jon Voight. I don't know why it wasn't more successful when it was released. It has folks like Jack Black and Gabriel Byrne in small parts. Very creepy - deals with the proliferation of technology that strips us of privacy.
THANKS
Some kind person left a gift card in my mailbox, anonymously. To that person - thank you. We are OK at the moment but I will save it for a rainy day. God Bless You.
