My cousin and friend Lesleigh came over for dinner last night after moving all day. My kids had helped her a bit with moving in some boxes from her storage unit. It was blistering hot. They were all exhausted. We just had a simple dinner; chicken in the crock pot, some homegrown tomatoes, fresh strawberries, and rolls. Les was exhausted, of course. Moving into her first solo apartment is a big step for her. She's had a hard time the last couple of years since her last relationship ended and she lost her job. She is doing great now, and I am so proud of her.
Unfortunately, she accidentally left her phone here last night, so she came back today around lunch and picked it up. We had a good discussion. We always do. Les should've spent the afternoon getting everything unpacked, but she took a good chunk of time to go to her prayer group, and they prayed for, among other things, me.
This was made a couple of months ago - Gary, Pasha, Alesia, and Lesleigh.
I am so worried about the job situation and the fact they cut off my unemployment that I am trying hard not to panic. I took the kids to WalMart after Les left, and it was so upsetting to me to have to say we were just there for a card with minutes for Mike's phone. We couldn't get anything else. I just don't have any extra money right now.
I am going tomorrow morning to see if I can get an extension on the unemployment. I don't know. Pray for me. If I can't get it, things will be pretty tough here until I can get a job.
Mother knew how uptight I was this afternoon and she underwrote a trip to the cheapo movie theatre for me and the kids. We saw Knight and Day, the new movie with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. I liked it. It was cute. Not great, but cute and entertaining.
There was a preview for a movie that really intrigues me - Red - with Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman. They are all retired CIA agents. Looks really interesting. I want to see it. Any movie where all the stars are over 40 is a must-see for me!
