Nothing wildly exciting going on here, but I thought I'd fill you in on our day to day stuff. My kids try my patience sometimes.
I thought we had escaped without Alesia Drama today, but I was wrong. I kissed Michael good night and stepped out into the hall, as usual. I said "Good night Michael, I love you." He told me he loved me, too. I said the same thing to Alesia. No answer. I went back about 15 minutes later after I noticed light on under her door. She was awake and listening to music. I told her a lack of sleep causes bad grades, and reminded her she will have to walk if she misses the bus tomorrow.
She got mad. She was LOUD. I ignored her and went into my room, my sanctuary.
I get so tired to telling the kids things 3 times. I had to tell Michael as I was headed up the stairs, to go get the Spanish dictionary and look up a word starting with N, which was his Spanish homework. Then he had to draw an illustration for the Spanish word. This took 10 minutes of me telling him what to do. Ridiculous.
I had dinner on the table and Alesia was on the computer, well past her allowed 30 minutes at night on a school night. I had to tell her 3 times to turn it OFF.
Michael is trying to learn the alphabet in Spanish. He can't remember it in English. He got to "S" and stopped. I sang him the ABC song. He wasn't amused.
Michael has decided sugared carrots are his favorite food. I kid you not. I grate a carrot for him at night and he adds sugar and eats. Says it reminds him of Kazakhstan. Whatever - just eat a veggie, please. He's getting a bit sick of tomatoes, I think.
A lady at work told me Whole Foods is selling Heirloom tomatoes for $6 a lb. What?!?
I need to grow veggies and sell them. I heard on NPR there is a real shortage of farmer's markets around here selling local produce. I wish my backyard were bigger. I'd plant it all.
I have a meeting with a recruiter [my 4th one] tomorrow, and lots going on in the next couple of days.
Stay tuned.
