We're having our first weather event here in the ATL. I got up this morning only to get on the computer and see that schools are delayed two hours due to ice.So Michael gets to sleep in a bit.
Just before we sat down to dinner last night, around 7:30, Lesleigh called and wanted to make sure we were all at home. She gets off work rather late and she said traffic all over town was a mess due to black ice. Channel 2 reported on the mess.
We don't get pretty snow much here, we get ice. Atlanta is famous for its ice storms.
There's a famous story of one of my Thompson uncles, Lewis, driving down here from Virginia for a family funeral in the winter and having to stop and get a hotel room due to the ice being so bad. He was 6'4 and he had to get on his hands and knees and crawl to the office to check in.
I was going to run some errands this morning before taking Mike to the orthodontist but maybe not, considering the mess.
