Hard to believe one week ago we were bracing for snow. Today it's pouring rain and close to 60. Lovely.
We had a big night last night here at Casa de Thompson. Mother turned 77 yesterday, and we had a teeny little get-together here. She said a week or so ago she wanted to have an hors d'ouvre supper and I thought, if we're fixing all that why not invite a few close buddies?!? So we did.
As parties go, it's wonderful to have teenagers. Alesia was up early, cleaning house. Mike also helped. I just fixed food, after going to the store.
It was just Les, Bronwyn, one of our neighbors for a little bit, Darryl, and Colton's aunt and uncle.Everyone was able to relax and chat, which to me is an ideal party. I hate huge gatherings where you can't really visit with folks.
I also reflected last night that I do not like going to parties, but I like giving them.
Colton and a buddy came over and Bruce got a kick out of chatting with them. Colton's buddy Luka is 14, but very tall. Bruce asked him what he did, thinking he was older, and he said "I'm 20 and I play guitar." Within a short time he admitted he was 14 and played guitar hero. Slight difference there, LOL.
It was really warm yesterday, close to 60. I finally turned on the air conditioner last night because the house was so stuffy.
Today we are having a "rest day." I have two cakes to make, but otherwise we're being lazy. I am taking the kids to the movie. Dinner is in the crock pot.
Why does it feel so much like Sunday?!?
