I'm sorry but I'm too tired to do much of a blog, but I thought I'd share an email I sent out to friends tonight:
Mother is resting comfortably. We got home about 4:45. It seemed like a very long day, just waiting for them to discharge her, but otherwise the stay in the hospital was as pleasant as such a situation could be. The regular nurses were great.
She has about 200 emails to read, but can't sit up and read for more than an hour or so at a time. Still very weak.
She asked for a milkshake for dinner and I got her a small Wendy's vanilla frosty, which she polished off. That was the most food she's had since Monday.
We are hopeful a night's sleep in her own bed will work wonders. Bruce is sleeping on the sofa and will be close by to help her tonight if she needs help.
The aftercare instructions include restricting the amount of salt in her diet, and of course dropping some weight, which we both need to do. I still won't allow broccoli in the house, though.
hugs,
Dee
