When Michael and I went to Kroger this afternoon we saw his homeroom teacher, who is also his science teacher. I like her very much. I waved hello. She was in the florist and I was in frozen foods. I love that sentence.
"We got Mike's protist project done yesterday afternoon," I called. "I now know a LOT about slime. That was the fun part of it."
I am betting she probably never had that hollered at her across Kroger.
I am an expert on Kroger shoppers. I can tell you with total certainty there were a lot of people shopping for Superbowl parties. Lots of guys in sweats whizzing by with buggies filled with beer and chips. Yet, there was only one lady working in the deli section - on Superbowl Sunday! Good Lord. I had to wait forever for mom's roast beef..
Alesia was supposed to work again this afternoon but she felt awful and didn't go. I have a friend who has had a weird virus that's going around, where your head is killing you, and all you want to do is sleep for a day or two. I hope she shakes it off. I hope I don't get it.
I was contacted by a lady who may be related to me through my Hasty relatives. That was so cool. Of course, I am probably connected to half the people in North Georgia...
The big news is I had that job interview today at noon. I liked the guy. It sounded like an interesting job. I think he liked me. We basically just chatted for most of two hours. But he said he got over 200 resumes from his ad, so I have a lot of competition. I just have to pray that if it's the right job for me, he will hire me, and if not something else will work out. I have always thought it would be fun to work for a sole practitioner as long as he was a nice guy and had fairly interesting cases.
I made meatballs and marinara sauce for dinner last night. I had found this Paul Sorvino marinara sauce last week and wanted to try it. It's good, but I am not sure it's worth the price.
I think Michael is growing. He had a healthy serving of pasta and meatballs, and then ate a big bowl of green bean salad. He also had a can of oranges, about a cup of fresh cantaloupe, some raspberry frozen custard Alesia had brought home, and I think a Little Debbie Nutty Bar in there somewhere. The past couple of nights he has wanted to sleep about 12 hours. So let's pray he is growing. I don't want him to be 5'3 a/2 the rest of his life.
I haven't had time to write much more on my book but hopefully I can work on it some more this week. I started reading it to Michael last night and he was receptive.
