I know most folks are heading back to work or school and the long holiday weekend is over, but for us it has been extended. Mother's brother Don and his wife Jane are coming by for lunch today, which is always a fun visit. They live in north Carolina.
I got up early yesterday and early this morning to run outside and water my gardens. If I wait even until mid morning it's already getting muggy. The high today is supposed to be 98, and it will be humid. I plan to stay inside all afternoon.
Michael played in the finals of our pool's round robin tennis tournament yesterday. He was hitting so hard he broke ths strings on his raquet, once again. Fortunately his doubles partner let him borrow her spare raquet. He played hard and hit some awesome strokes. He was putting a lot of spin on the ball. He lost, but only in a nail-biting tiebreaker.
I so wish I could get a job, if only to be able to pay for him to go to tennis camp or to get some additional coaching.
I sent out a lot of resumes over the weekend. I also finished the final edits on my book.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
Two of the little girls in Kazakhstan that are sponsored by Antares Foundation are in Almaty [the capital] for surgery. Please say a prayer for them.
My friend Stephanie is making preparations to go to Bulgaria to adopt three special needs children. Please hop over to her site if possible. She's collecting donations for orphanage supplies.
Please pray I will find a job this week!
