We've had a fun but busy afternoon and it started with taking Michael and two of his buddies, Mat and Bart, to the mall to see the new Harry Potter movie. That's Bart in the middle, and I was so glad his mom came along because it was nice to have another grownup to chat with, although the boys are cute and I like them very much.
I had to give Mike some teasing because his birthday celebrations have gone on for a week, in different ways. I paid for part of his new iPod that he got several weeks ago. I took him and Colton and Bart to Dave & Busters last Tuesday. We went shopping at Sports Authority yesterday for birthday things. Today was Harry Potter. Tuesday night we are going out to Bambinelli's for dinner. Tuesday is the actual day of his birthday. Wednesday I have tickets to see Fiddler on the Roof at the Fox Theatre.
I was completely unable to do anything for Alesia's birthday a couple of weeks ago because I had no idea where she was. So maybe I am overcompensating...?! [I will have a little birthday something for her when I see her next, BTW.]
I was loving the movie, but the film broke right at the crucial scene at the end, where Harry and Voldemort are in the final battle! Aaaargh! They got the film spliced back but I know we missed some good stuff...
Here are a couple of funny photos we took after the movie. Mike's the shortest of the bunch, so for the first photo I told the other boys to slump down.I love this first photo because they all got so tickled.
Here's where they stood tall:
Mike is 5'4 now but I wish he would grow some more. I keep feeding him everything I can and urging him to sleep late whenever possible...
After the movie, Mike and I had to run to the Kroger, which was not terribly fun, but at least we have plenty of food in the house...
