The dog days are here. It was 96 yesterday afternoon when I left work. Of course, this is Atlanta, so that kind of heat in July is not all the unusual. I feel sorry for people in the midwest who are not accustomed to this sort of weather.
Our highs in the next few days are supposed to be around 94, which is hot, sure, but not unbearably hot.
Michael has a job for the next month, watering plants in a neighbor's yard. He has a weekend job taking care of the pets of another neighbor. He has gotten a reputation for being reliable and honest, and folks are calling him for pet-sitting and plant-sitting duties.
I told him he needs to save his money for a car. He's good about saving.
Yesterday was not a terribly exciting day. The only big news was that I took Mother to get a pedicure. Whoop-dee-do.
We started watching the new Adam Sandler movie Just Go With It, and what a mess of a movie. Just ridiculously bad. I knew it was not one of his best but I like Sandler. It's a total bomb though, a big yawn-fest. Avoid it if possible.
Oh, I forgot to mention the other big news yesterday - Michael's amputee camp got canceled. He was going to go to scuba camp down in Florida but the instructor is in the hospital. I hate that he isn't getting any vacation this summer. We can't afford to go anywhere and now his camp canceled. Poor baby.
