I have a cousin who is doing some genealogy research and I sent her some photos last night of Dad's family, not really thinking to identify everyone. She couldn't identify everyone so I thought I'd just post here. Those of you who enjoy old photos or know my family.... enjoy!
The young man on the right is my dad's father, Algernon "Slick" Thompson. This is from the early 1920's when he was courting my grandmother. Grandaddy was in his 30's when he married, but he looks very youthful here. I think the tall guy whose face is partially showing was my great uncle Claude Henderson. He once got drunk and rode his horse onto the stage of the school auditorium in Hepzibah.
This is Thompson years later, in the 1950's after he was diagnosed with emphysema. Left to right: my uncle Bobby Thompson, and my aunt Ceph holding Bobby's daughter Frann. Everyone in the photo is gone now except Frann and she is a grandmother. Michael has this bed in his room.
This was made the night before my parents got married, at Dad's bachelor party. Left to right: Doug [Dad's first cousin and owner of the home], Bobby, Stuart Capers [Dad's best friend], Dad, Lewis.
This is outside the home where my dad grew up in Hepzibah. I think that's Bobby with no shirt on, then Thompson, then my grandmother Cordelia. She was very tall for her day [5'8].
