I went shopping again today, because I had to pick up some things I forgot yesterday.
Everything was fine, I thought. I got everything but beer, but then again it's Sunday and this is the south, so no big deal. Then I got home and was talking to Mother about the dressing [or stuffing, as it's called up north], and I realized we don't have enough chicken broth.Mother's dressing takes a lot of chicken broth. So I have to go back to the store.
Again.
AAAAAAHHHH!!
I don't have a lot of family coming for Thanksgiving, but I am already stressing about it. I'm cooking for 4, maybe 5, tops, and not even cooking a turkey, and I'm stressing. If I had a large family group coming I'd need Prozac.
I did get a few things marked off my To Do list, including polishing the silver. Some of it.
I also am able to mention now that my household is one person smaller, as of today. I've had a friend staying with me for the past few months, but I didn't want to blog about it for privacy reasons. He was having financial issues. We are great friends and he was a model guest, but sharing the house was stressful.
Now I am determined to get my house clean and straight for the holidays.I actually mopped one of the bathrooms today.
Now we are going to be decorating for Christmas this coming weekend. I was telling Michael tonight, it seems like about a month ago we put up all of last year's Christmas decorations. Anyone else notice how time is whizzing by now?! It's at warp speed. I may wake up tomorrow and be 80. Yikes.
SINUSES - A TIP
Yesterday I woke up with a terrible sinus headache, truly horrific, and I felt awful all day. Today I felt fine all day. Mother told me last night before bed to try what she does, which I thought sounded ridiculous and icky, but then again I have awakened with terrible sinus headaches a lot lately so I tried it. It worked. You just take some vaseline and put it inside your nose, just a dab, and as you inhale all night it coats your nose and moistens it so your sinuses don't hurt.
Thank God for home remedies...
