A friend of mine emailed me and asked me why I haven't been writing. I think she just hasn't been scrolling down past the book giveaway blog...?
Sometimes it's hard to think of things to write about.
Yesterday's activities were: Took Michael to school, took Mother to the doctor for a checkup, took myself to work, came home and helped Michael with homework, cooked and ate dinner, watched the end of Godfather III, went to bed.
Pretty exciting stuff, huh?!
The highlight of the day was I called Chase Auto Finance while Mother was in with the doctor, and I learned they will send me a notarized statement saying the car loan was paid off in 2005. I was afraid they wouldn't have any info. from that far back. So hopefully I can now take that and get a replacement car title, and sell my dead old car, for parts.
Whatever I make might be enough to pay for the broken garage door.
We live in a house built in 1968. There's always something that needs fixing.
On a positive note, I got an email the other day saying my grandfather Bob Hasty was accepted into the Sports Hall of Fame in Canton, Georgia, his hometown, which is just north of Atlanta. I am always amazed what turns up when I Google his name. The best article is this one. He's even on Ebay; a 3x5 card he autographed is up for sale on Ebay for $69! You can also read a book excerpt about when Papaw was almost arrested for playing in Georgia, in a contract dispute between the Atlanta Crackers and the Mobile Gulls.
There will be a banquet in April, and I am hoping that all my Hasty cousins and my uncle can be there to honor Papaw. We haven't all been together in the same town in many years. That would be such fun.
Better go make some breakfast.
