OK, so I know I shouldn't complain about winter weather - after all, we've only had a few days of cold temps - but to go from having temps in the 60's, to suddenly it's bone-chilling cold and windy is a SHOCK. Most folks have more gradual temp changes.
Friday? Mike's wearing shorts and tee shirts.
Saturday? The HIGH is in the 30's, with 30 mph winds.
We even lost power for a while late yesterday afternoon. Fortunately, Michael had turned on the gas logs in the family room.
Yesterday morning I was feeling very low. I had a horrible feeling Michael was going to dig in his heels and refuse to clean his room all weekend, and we'd all be miserable. As it turned out, Granny saved the day. I did errands in the morning while he was still asleep. I even went to Kroger alone. By the time I got back, his room was clean and although he was rather subdued, things got better. Mother had talked to him.
Hallelujah.
While I was out running errands, I noticed that at the gas pump the wind knifed through me - and I was wearing layers, y'all, plus a coat. When I was loading the groceries in the car, I thought my hands were going to freeze and break OFF.
Now, before you laugh at me because you live someplace where it is cold and snowy all winter, please remember, this is HOT-LANTA. Our idea of a typical winter day is highs in the 50's.
Michael rarely feels the need to wear long pants in the winter. Shorts suit him just fine.
I did get a number of things crossed off my To Do list. I still need to spend some time straightening the house, make lasagna for tonight, and I need to do some writing for work, but I will get there.
I made the mistake of not working out yesterday morning because I thought to myself, I'm going to be running around all day. Big mistake. I didn't have much energy. Won't do that again. Even 20 minutes of marching in place helps jump start the day.
Y'all stay warm!
