Just for fun, I wanted to do a little blog about a week of dinners of all the foods I love. Mom and Mike and I were talking about this the other day, all the dinners we love.We are all "foodies" so this is a very happy topic.
[NOTE - I am talking full meals here, not tapas or appetizers...]
[further note - my Knoxville friends will recognize some of these yummy places I've mentioned!]
Sunday -- waffles with real maple syrup and Wright's bacon, and a Diet Coke to drink, of course, to cut through all that sweetness...
Monday -- fried chicken like my Mamaw used to make, plus green beans [soft, not crunchy] cooked with fatback, bisquits, rice, gravy, and a congealed salad with oranges, pineapple, and little marshmallows. Pound cake for dessert.
Tuesday -- country fried steak like my mama used to make, plus squash casserole, bisquits, gravy... and pecan pie for dessert with vanilla ice cream on the side.
Wednesday -- prime rib from The Copper Cellar, plus Spinach Maria, mashed potatoes, and creme brulee for dessert.
Thursday -- Lobster, baby. Asparagus with just some lemon butter. Hot french bread with garlic butter. [Notice all the references to butter?! No, I don't have high cholesterol. Not genetically programmed for it. Hallelujah!] Lime sherbet for dessert.
Friday -- Big Ed's pepperoni pizza, and chocolate ice cream with Kahlua on it for dessert.
Saturday -- shrimp, fried in tempura batter, corn on the cob, hash browns from Waffle House, and a funnel cake for dessert.
[Somewhere in there I would have to have french fries from The Varsity, and ribs from Houston's in Atlanta....]
Just thinking about this week makes me deliriously happy...
Leave a comment and let me know what your dinner menu would be for the week!
