Today is the last day of August and there's supposed to be a blue moon tonight. My horoscope says it's a good day for me to travel, especially to someplace near water.
We got a creek right behind the back yard. Does that count?! I have to pay flood insurance every year for that lovely "water feature."
Michael had a tough time getting to school yesterday. He missed his bus, which came early. I took him to school, and we passed Colton's stop where the kids were still waiting, so I took him back there. He said they waited a good while, but ended up with Colton's aunt driving them. What's wrong with these school buses?!
I am so glad we are heading into a three day weekend. I need some R&R.
Had a really tough day yesterday, for reasons I can't disclose. Then I came home and fixed some little steaks I had bought on sale. They didn't get cooked enough. Ick. We ended up eating mostly just veggies, cauliflower with cheese, and portobello mushrooms with boursin. Plus some pasta. Mike said later he was full.
We found a rat inside the food pantry last night, making noise! We were sitting in the fmaily room watching a movie and kept hearing noises. Coco was in Mom's room watching the Republican Convention.
Michael went to the kitchen, listened, and opened the door of the pantry. He said "There's a rat in there." I thought he was joking. I looked and SAW THE RAT!! I screamed. And reached for the phone, to call the pest control guy. He's coming out this morning. I HATE RATS.
We have boxes outside. Rats are supposed to eat the food in there, go off, and die. Guess the traps are out of food. I don't think we'd have this problem if we didn't live near a creek.
So, to recap: tough day + inedible steaks + rats
ACK!
