I've always thought my son was a very photogenic boy, but now I've gotten proof of it.
I was in a seminar all day yesterday, then picked up Michael from school and dashed over to Children's Healthcare to get his prosthetic adjusted. When we got there, his therapist Colleen walked out to the waiting area and said there was a professional photographer in the office, there to photograph patiens for marketing materials.
So Michael was given a blue shirt and his whole visit was photographed by this man, Michael Prince. I don't know if I will ever get to see any of the photos, but I hope so. I gave his assistant my email address. It was fun to see all the assistants buzzing around, and we got to see some shots that were made.
I told Michael he ought to think about a career as a photographer. It's not a desk job, and he has a very good eye. He has made some terrific shots already, with a little camera my brother gave him.

The remarkable phenomenon in my life is how many folks read my little blog and how much support I find out there in the cyber world. My mother and some of my fiends think I'm weird because I have real friends I've never actually met, who are important in my life. That's the beauty of the internet.
I also have friends I've not seen in more than 30 years.
I also have cousins all over Georgia, and all over the country.
I have been the recipient of several long emails from folks about their own back troubles. I've been blessed to hear their stories and they've prompted me to think, I AM NOT ALONE.
Now, as a person of faith I know I am not alone.
However, I am glad to learn my struggles are part of being human and there ARE ways to overcome these issues, and I take comfort in knowing I am not alone.
I have one first cousin who I don't hear from too much, who sent me a loving email about her back issues. She actually has a herniated disk but swims and keeps her weight down and hasn't had surgery.
I've heard from three cousins on the other side of the family who have had really huge, life-altering struggles with back problems, and they are soldiering on.
I heard from a lady on Facebook who has had surgery and is facing more of it, plus is a caretaker for her mom, and she soldiers on.
You ladies are a godsend, all of you. Thank you.
