I was running errands yesterday and I couldn't resist running into Pike's nursery and getting some plants and seeds and dirt. I know mornings are still cold. Right now it's 48, even though we're going to a high of 69 today. I still feel the urge to get outside and plant.
I bought zucchini plants, tomato plants, and seeds for squash, tomatoes, and radishes. I already had bought cantaloupe and pepper seeds. I like doing seed pots.
It has been such a weird "spring" so far - January and February were really mild, and March felt like winter. Ick.
I also just realized the other day that it's been days since I felt even a twinge in my back. I was still feeling occasional twinges from last summer's injury, but lately the back seems to be completely healed, knock wood. As long as I stay out of too-soft or uncomfortable chairs. I now look at Adirondack chairs, for instance, and shudder. I look at hard benches and they seem inviting.
Now, if I could only get my sinuses under control...
Michael and I watched the best movie the other night, The Intouchables. French movie. It's about a paralyzed man and the young guy who is hired to care for him. Sounds weird, I know, but it's such a refreshing, clever film, I understand why it's been so popular in France.
It's got some language [in French, but you can read subtitles] and a couple of very brief nudity moments, so it's not one for kids, but the overall messages are terrific. If you're looking for a movie about human beings, not things that blow up, rent it. It's funny, too.
