I am in a ranty mood. Been a really busy day and I have little to show for it. So I'm just going to spew a bit and let the chips fall where they may.
- I did have a meeting this morning with Michael's Biology teacher. It went well. Bottom line: He has a LOT of Biology to learn in the next few weeks.
- I hate this weather. It was freezing this morning. I actually wore a coat to take Michael to school. Then this afternoon when I took Mother to get a haircut, it was hot.
- Found out I need more coverage on my Flood Insurance policy. This despite the fact that a flood has NEVER damaged my house. If I could go back in time and buy a different house [but in this neighborhod] I would do it. A house not bordered by a creek. Not built by drug-addled hippes in 1968. A house where something doesn't break at least once a month. A house without a ghost.
- There is something wrong with the car's air conditioner. Oh joy.
- I got fussed at for giving Michael a nice bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. He said he hates to use the bathroom at school. Need I say more?!
- Yes, we have a ghost. We hear him walking around sometimes upstairs when there are no living people up here. The other day he turned on the teakettle when I was standing 5 feet away from it and nobody else was in the kitchen. He moved the flyswatter last night while Michael was watching. No wonder Michael and I love Ghost Adventures.

The other day a woman said to me, with great disdain in her voice, "I do not cook." I wanted to slap her.
I am always puzzled by women who tell me proudly "I DON'T cook," as though cooking is something to be embarrassed about. Usually, these same women will tell you very quickly how important it is to eat right. Like sandwiches and pizza and takeout food are really conducive to that?!
I always want to say Wow, I am so happy to meet somebody really wealthy. Because that $20 takeout you got? I could spend the same amount on real food and get 3 excellent meals out of it.
I also hear "I don't have TIME" to cook. OK, so spending 20-30 minutes driving somewhere and standing in line for takeout food doesn't take time??
Grrr.....

The hardest part about working from home is organizing my time. Not getting distracted. There are just too many other things to do around the house.
I think I am going to have to have a Come-To-Jesus meeting with the boss [me] and discuss my poor performance lately. It's going to be brutal. I may make myself cry.
No, wait a minute. Just checking my bank account will make me cry...

There are a number of famous people on my personal Slap List but I am fixing to add the mother of the Boston terrorists. She is way beyond crazy. She's in her own little crazy universe. I hope she comes here and I HOPE they arrest her crazy butt.

I love it when I can share a beautiful bonding moment with my son on the way to school. After not finding any song he wanted to hear on the car radio this morning, I hit the classic rock station and discovered this classic song. I like to sing along. My son couldn't believe I knew all the words. I pointed out that I used to sing this when I was his age, and it's STILL a great song 30-something years later!
