I totally forgot to do a blog this morning. Yikes. With Michael being out of school on break this week, we are out of our usual routine.
I was intent on getting my house straight because my brother is coming in today, plus getting Coco to the vet to be groomed, and finishing up a work project for a client.
We also have no air conditioning at the moment. Our regular guy, who is elderly, simply isn't up to it any more. The idiots who built our house put everything under the house and crawling under there to do anything is a HUGE pain. A friend recommended Larry, and he came by last night. I put him on the phone with our previous HVAC guy and they had a good laugh about our horrible system. Then Larry promised he would call a friend who does this who is a SMALL guy. Yes, it's a job for oompa loompas under there. THAT is why every time we need something done, whoever we call wants to sell us a whole new system - to the tune of $6-8,000! ACK. Anyway, Larry is out of town today so who knows when this will get done. But we will manage.
Anyway, thank goodness the weather is mild this week. The highs for the next few days are mid to upper 70's.
I couldn't afford to go to the beach or anywhere overnight, but I am glad we got to go to Lookout Mountain on Monday. Yesterday all we got to do was go out to lunch, since I was waiting on the HVAC guy. Today we had lunch at my favorite Chinese restaurant, Oriental Pearl, a place where I've been eating for 20+ years. They have fabulous dim sum but I don't get that, I get regular food. It's always terrific. I had Kung Pao shrimp and Michael had a big bowl of won ton soup. We also had rice and egg rolls. For less than $20 Michael and I got a terrific lunch.
We laughed about the fortune cookies. Michael's said You Will Soon Get Your Heart's Desire. Mine said You Will Have a Great Day Friday. LOL
Afterwards we went and bummed around in a little junk shop where we like to look periodically. Michael saw an old bike he wanted to restore but it was $95. I saw a guitar I wanted but it was $75. Oh well..
Below, a shot I made Monday that I kinda like. If I hadn't cut off the top I think it would be a nice photo.
