We have had a rather busy day, for a Sunday, doing chores around here. The Christmas tree still has dead spots on it. We are pondering what to do about it. Someone on Facebook suggested the kind of lights you put over bushes in the yard.
It would be cheaper than a new tree, so that may be the solution. I have never bought lights for the yard because we have no outside electrical outlet.
Mike brought in all the Christmas boxes [huge plastic crates] in from the garage, so we are getting the house decorated. It's quite a project.

We bought Lola an Easy Walk harness at PetSmart yesterday but it was too big. We took it back and exchanged it for a small one - too small. Need to return that one, too.
I finally ordered a Medium/Small one online. She was doing better walking with the too-large one - not pulling me as much when I walked her - so it DOES work, which is good to know. I just couldn't get it adjusted to fit her correctly. She is small but she has a massive neck and chest.
I am doing a lot more walking, which is good. I had gotten too sedentery. I feel better when I walk more. I just don't like being pulled.
We had hoped my brother could come home this weekend but he couldn't make it. He has a friend who owns a gun store and he's been working there, a lot of hours, since one of the regular employees is on medical leave and another one just quit recently.
My brother is an expert marksman and an expert in all kinds of weapons. He was in the Army for years, but also he just find weaponry fascinating.
He gets his enthusiasm from my dad. I never have particularly cared for guns, except as a means to an end, namely hunting for food or protection. I understand the fascination with them, though.
I much prefer swords. There's something primal, and yet romantic about a sword.
Years ago my great aunt Barbara married a Yankee, a guy from Boston Mass. I remember as a small child wondering why on earth he talked so funny. I thought it was just Harvey. I was astonished to grow up and find out there are thousands who speak the same way.
My grandparents had a set of Civil War swords that had been passed down through the family, and one day Harvey was looking at one of the swords. He had ticked off my grandmother some way; I don't know how. He said disdainfully, "These aren't really good swords, look at all the nicks in the blade!"
My grandmother [all of 4'10 but tough as nails] just looked at him and said "Each one of those nicks was from CUTTING OFF A YANKEE'S HEAD!"
LMAO
I'm sure Harvey was sorry he'd asked...
