Well, the owner of the car moved it, but now there is another vehicle. I moved it off the driveway and onto the grass, so it wouldn't get run over.
The nice thing about those little cars is you can now find them at garage sales or Goodwill for very little money. When I was a kid they were a novelty, and they were expensive. Bruce had a toy tank he could ride in and I remember having serious tank envy. I never had a pedal car, just my first bike. It was a Schwinn and I'm sure it was bought at Sears.
I have now gotten so accustomed to not shopping and not splurging on anything, I am in sort of a quandary when asked to buy gifts. I have 4 kids, children of friends, who are graduating from high school, and I need to come up with gifts for them. I did a post about it on Facebook and all the replies said either "gift card" or "money."
I don't like giving gift cards or money. I may do that, but I'd rather be a little more creative. I am pondering The Complete Idiot's Guide to College Survival. I think all the kids are going to college.
I got to thinking about college days this morning and wrote out several pages of advice. I may print it out and send it to the graduates. I doubt anyone I send it to will read it but who knows.
When I went to college I remember my dad's simple advice: Make good grades. Stay out of trouble.
It's a bit more complicated than that.

Found out some disturbing news about one of Michael's friends last night, but we sat and talked it over and he understands the concerns I have about that friendship.
I had to tell him to simply be cautious around this boy, and don't let him influence you into doing something wrong. I think [hope/pray] Michael is mature enough to understand that.
There have been two students arrested at Michael's school this week - not the friend though. Mike knew both kids, though they were not his friends. I told him that regardless of personal feelings or popular opinion, marijuana is still illegal, and you can get arrested for possessing it.
I think he has a pretty good handle on it all...
It's a glorious day and I've already been gardening and walked Lola. Time to get some work done...
