Happy to say the Dental Ordeal is over, finally. Wow, was I dreading it.
Sent this to the family a little while ago:
Well, I am minus a back molar now. The extraction wasn't nearly the ordeal I dreaded. The whole thing took about 30 minutes, and the actual pulling took less than 5 minutes. I was afraid he would have to break my tooth and wrestle it out of my skull, but he didn't. I actually drove home, with Mike following. Fortunately, the office is 3 minutes from the house.
Now I just want it to heal up. Have to start rinsing with salt water tomorrow. Not in too much pain. Have stockpiled yogurt and soup to eat for the next couple of days.
Motrin IS my friend, though...
I knew I was going to be a nervous wreck, so I have been meditating every day for a while now. I was watching PBS recently and caught a program with Deepak Chopra. Amazing guy. So much wisdom.
I have long been fascinated by meditation. It reduces stress, speeds healing, encourages good health and happiness. I think of it as prayer to the tenth power. [I pray, too.]
If you can do something to make life more happy and healthy, why not?? There are no chemicals involved, no drugs, no weird exercises. There are plenty of videos on YouTube helping you meditate.
I am just beginning to get myself in the habit of meditating, and I am far too easily distracted, but I know it's a worthwhile study, even if it takes me years to get good at it. I highly recommend it.
It also makes going to the dentist less of an ordeal...
