I rarely watch TV during the day, except perhaps the news while I fix breakfast, or while I am eating lunch I will watch HGTV or The History Channel. We are getting free HBO right now though, so I started watching a movie yesterday afternoon thinking, I will watch 5 minutes of this and switch to HGTV, and I ended up watching the entire movie -- The Other Woman -- and laughing hysterically. I was laughing so loud I woke up Michael and he came down and watched with me.
I was fascinated by Leslie Mann. I have seen her in other movies and was mainly annoyed by her voice, which is high and squeaky. However, in The Other Woman, her character is just so flaky she's endearing. There are episodes of physical comedy that remind me of Lucy and Ethel, and I was laughing loudest at those moments. Hmm... never thought I'd say Cameron Diaz reminds me of Ethel, but there you go. [If you are too young to catch the Lucy and Ethel references, I pity you.]
Anyway, it's not for kids, some of the humor is a bit crude, but this movie IS hysterical, in places, and it's witty and intelligent. I urge you to see it.
